CLUB NEWS

Dear Belmont Country Club Members,

As we reflect on an outstanding year at Belmont Country Club, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support and enthusiasm. Thanks to your engagement, we’ve had an exceptional season filled with exciting events, meaningful improvements, and remarkable growth.

Under the direction of the Board, the club has spent the past few years reinvesting in its facilities, services, and overall member experience. These efforts have focused on much-needed infrastructure repairs, expanding year-round operations, enhancing amenities, and strengthening our team. While this strategic reinvestment required drawing from capital reserves and operational funds—resulting in temporary income statement deficits—the club remained financially strong. More importantly, this initiative has been a resounding success. Membership has now grown beyond 500, generating increased revenue from dues, capital contributions, dining, and events. This growth enables us to continue self-funding improvements that enhance the experience for all members. The Board and management team remain dedicated to elevating Belmont as the premier country club in the region.

This past year was filled with memorable moments. We hosted a full invitational field and another successful Maumee Valley Swim Championship. Participation in our tennis and pickleball programs grew, and beloved traditions like Mother’s Day, Easter, Oktoboofest, and holiday celebrations continued to draw impressive turnouts. Family-friendly events, including the campout and Bass Pro Fishing Derby, were enjoyed by many, while special gatherings like food and beverage tastings, trivia nights, Name That Tune, and euchre tournaments added to the club’s vibrant social calendar. Our Fourth of July celebration welcomed over 1,200 attendees, making it a standout highlight of the year. Club tournaments remained competitive and well-organized, reinforcing the strong spirit of sportsmanship and engagement that define Belmont.

On the golf course, we introduced the Four-Tee system and additional tee box options to enhance play for all skill levels. Restoration work continued on holes #12, #15, #16, and  #18, further elevating the quality of our course. As our membership continues to grow, we remain committed to ongoing enhancements and are excited to self-fund further golf course upgrades in the coming years. We continue to work with Brian Huntly on the next phase of the restoration project. If you would like to be part of the committee, please reach out to Roger Parker.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are thrilled to introduce new outdoor pickleball courts, several kitchen equipment replacements, and upgrades to our living room furniture. Our event calendar will be as dynamic as ever, featuring cherished traditions alongside exciting new additions such as a Kentucky Derby Day celebration, Opening Day festivities, and the Masters Champions Dinner. These enhancements, along with the energy and engagement of our members, will make 2025 another extraordinary year at Belmont.

Thank you for being an essential part of Belmont’s continued success. Your participation and enthusiasm shape the club and ensure it remains a premier destination for recreation, competition, and lasting connections. We look forward to sharing another exciting season with you!

Best regards,

Eric Hutchins

Board President
